Because we all need to relax and enjoy the moment, I’ve put together this list of 10 activities that can help you feel good.
Snuggle your cat
Or your dog. Or your partner. Or your roomate. You get the idea! It’s completely free and one of the easiest way to feel good.
Start a Gratitude Journal
Two months ago I started writing every day 3 things I’m grateful for. It can be anything, and it really works! I’ve started to appreciate what I have more and realise my blessings. Put your notes in a cute journal and leave it by your bedside.
Watch a Comedy
Laughter is the best medicine! What’s better than watching a comedy with some snacks (popcorn or candies?!). A few of my favourites comedies: “Some Like It Hot”, “21 Jump Street”, “Very Bad Trip” and “We’re the Millers”.
Run a Bath And Light Some Candles
The ultimate self-care and relaxation combo! I think it is one of the best feeling to sit in your bath surrounded by candles. Add some peaceful music and welcome to heaven!
Play Board Games
Board Games are a proven way to make people happy. It’s a lot of fun for everyone and it actually helps reduce stress as well as lowering your blood pressure (unless you are as competitive as I am haha). You have to try Uno, Lynx and Cards Against Humanity!
Six months ago, I would’ve never put “exercise” in this list. But since I started exercising, I can honestly say that it does make you feel better, both mentally and physically. And you don’t have to work out every day, I exercise two or three times a week and I can feel the gains! Even just going for a walk or stretch for 10 minutes a day, you’ll feel happier.
Call a Friend
What’s better than talking to a friend or family? It always puts a smile on my face. Plus if like me you live far from your loved ones, we have so many ways to connect nowadays that if you feel down it’s easy to reach out! We have a lot of options between WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, FaceTime. You can also download House Party to play trivia and other fun games, live with your friends!
Tidy up your space and Decorate
I don’t know about you but I feel content and proud when I’ve cleaned something and it looks like new again. There is something cheerful about seeing the results of your hard work and how neat it looks. Studies show that a clean space boosts productivity and helps clear your mind! You can also decorate your bedroom, kitchen or any room really with plants, colourful posters or garlands!
Make a Cheese Board
Aaaah cheese… my love for life. If you don’t know by now, I am the biggest cheese addict! If I feel down, one of the first thing that comes to my mind is to make a cheese platter. I love putting all the ingredients on a beautiful wooden board, grab a glass of wine and get comfy watching a movie with my cheeses! Our brain actually releases dopamine (the happy hormone) when we eat salty foods like cheese. That explains why I’m so addicted. Find out how to make the perfect cheese board here!
Watch TikTok videos
I have to admit, I can’t stop watching TikTok videos once I open the app. You can find so many feel-good videos that will make you laugh and want to watch more! My feed is actually saturated with funny cat videos because I always press “like” on these ones! TikTok is also a great mood booster because it is based on music that’ll make you energetic and eager to learn a dance or two!
I hope you enjoyed this list of 10 feel good activities, let me know in the comments what’s your favourite!
